What is the difference between self-drilling and self-tapping screws?
A self-drilling screw has a drill point and makes its own hole. A self-tapping screw forms threads in a pre-drilled pilot hole.
How do I choose the drill point?
Choose by the total steel thickness being joined. The drill flute must clear the material before the threads engage; share your substrate thickness and we will suggest the point.
Which screws are best for roofing?
Hex-flange self-drilling screws with bonded EPDM washers and a corrosion-resistant coating suited to the site environment.
