Why use a rivet nut instead of a weld nut?
A rivet nut is installed from one side, needs no heat, does not damage painted or coated surfaces and works in thin sheet and tube.
How is the grip range chosen?
The total thickness of the material at the hole must fall within the rivet nut's stated grip range. Too thin or too thick gives a weak or incomplete set.
Why does my rivet nut spin in the hole?
Usually the hole is oversize or the grip range is wrong. Use the recommended hole size, and choose knurled or hex-body styles for higher torque.
